I’ve followed the past 10 years of R. Stevie’s career and witnessed him gradually find a place in music history. I can remember working in a factory during my summer break, carefully listening to Alicia, subconsciously hoping no-one would ask what I was listening to for fear of being dubbed a weirdo or worse (those of you who know the lyrics to the song in question might get what I mean).
When you have an artist as honest as R. Stevie Moore, you feel closer to them and they seem more “real”. So it’s easy for me to wonder, what makes him tick?
